The Difference Between Video Slots And Reels!

Slot machines can be divided into two basic types; video slots and reel slots.

The name “reel slots” comes from the wheels they have. Another name for reel slots is “mechanical slots.” They usually follow a theme, such as fruits. If the theme is fruits, there would be symbols of different fruits.

Reel slots can have three or five reels and the number of paylines vary between one and nine.

Many video slots also seem to have reels, although they are not used. This is because originally a slot machine had wheels.

Video slots are different from reel slots in that they have videos of symbols. The computer generates all the symbols and the different combinations available, unlike with the reel slots where the wheel turns mechanically.

Online slots are just video slots and even if you do see an image of a reel or a wheel, it does not mean it is a reel slot. A slot machine cannot be a reel slot without the mechanical action associated with reel slots.

On a reel slot machine, players can only bet on one coin per line or even lesser. For five paylines, if players bet $1 on each line, it will be $5 total. But the video slot machine can have as many as forty paylines and players can place a maximum bet on all the forty lines.

The old timers tend to like the reel slots better, simply because they have been seeing them for ages and enjoy the mechanical spinning of the reel, but a player of the younger generation would be happier using the video slots.
